How weapon reforging works
Reforging lowers a weapon’s level and returns the materials invested in its upgrades. Those resources can then go into a different weapon. The reset item is called a Reforging Talisman.
The August gameplay presentation describes more than 30 main weapons and 25 Phantom Edges. These are the announced arsenal figures, rather than a complete weapon checklist.
The Revert menu
The official gameplay demonstration at 10:30 shows White Serpent & Crimson Viper selected in the MAIN WEAPONS Revert screen.
The screen previews a reset from level 21 to level 1, with Damage changing from 936 to 312 and Break Power from 492 to 164. The Owned column shows existing resources, while Refund shows what the reset will return.
The PlayStation-style prompt asks you to hold × to confirm Revert. After confirmation, the demonstration returns to the upgrade screen with the weapon at level 1. This footage begins with the Revert menu already open; it does not show a continuous route from a bell or NPC.
Material refund example
This is the refund for that demonstrated level-21 weapon, not a fixed refund for every weapon or upgrade level.
| Resource | Before reset | Refunded | After reset |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remnant Dust | 307,603 | 135,135 | 442,738 |
| Twinned Metal | 276 | 78 | 354 |
| Solvent | 414 | 26 | 440 |
The refund depends on the investment being reversed. Check the preview before confirming a reset.
Check the item cost before confirming
Do not assume every reset is free or that every reset consumes exactly one talisman. The preview’s 2/25 indicator does not establish an item cost, and the footage does not show a before-and-after talisman inventory.
This page explains the reset and refund. It does not provide a talisman farming route or an acquisition location.
Weapon resets and ability resets are separate
Revert is the weapon reset. Ability Training has a separate reset process. A skill-tree reset screen is not the weapon refund menu.
